Visit us in Maysville

You belong here, just as you are.

Each year, we open the farm to guests from all over to enjoy the land we call home and harvest a Christmas tree to take into their own homes.

Opening Friday, November 24, 2023 | 1:00 p.m.

* The farm does not open until the day after Thanksgiving to give our family some much needed time together before the holidays draw near.

How It Works

Our on-farm crew is made up of our closest family and friends ready and willing to help.

  • While not required, it is helpful to have an idea of the species and style of Christmas tree you prefer. If you are undecided, we are happy to assist you in selection an finding the right location on the farm.

Please visit our sales building to request a saw, check pricing, and get directions before cutting your tree.

  • Handsaws are provided to cut your tree. You may also bring your own saw or we can assist you with cutting in the fields. We are not responsible for any accidents.

  • Upon cutting your tree, bring it back to our sales building to be wrapped, shaken, and drilled. We will gladly load your tree onto your vehicle. Payment can be made by cash, check or credit card.

Species

Our farm offers various trees, each unique in their own way.

Douglas Fir - Soft to the touch and radiate in all directions from the branch.  They have a sweet fragrance and excellent needle retention.

Concolor Fir - This tree is a premium tree that decorates well with heavier ornaments. They are strong branched (if properly shaped and pruned) and are the most aromatic (citrus) of all Christmas tree species.

Colorado Blue Spruce - Branches are stout.  This tree has a unique resinous aroma.  With the sharp needles, it is good for areas where disturbances to the tree may occur by children or animals.

Fraser Fir - The ‘Cadillac’ of Christmas trees. Needles are dark green on top and two silver bands on the bottom.  Length is from 3/4 inch to 1 1/4 inch. *Pre-cut only.

Scotch Pine - Needles are produced in bundles of two with lengths ranging from 1 to nearly 3 inches; with a generally green to blue/green color.  Needle retention is good – generally drying out before the needles fall from the tree.

Photography

We love seeing visitors take out their phone or camera and capture memories from their visit.

We want everyone to enjoy the space in an organic and natural way and for this reason, we do not allow professional photography during our business hours. This includes mini sessions, photo shoots, videography, or any planned photography visit. If you ignore our photography policy, you will be asked to leave. Feedback from our regular customers about interrupted experiences led us to feel that it was for the best to limit these events.

We do however, offer a limited number of photography passes each year to people who can see the natural beauty of the land here and want to use a camera lens to explore. Please visit our Photographer Field Pass page for more information.

Safety

Please note that for the safety of our guests, drones or similar devices are not permitted to fly over any May Tree Farm-owned property at any time, day or night.

It can get chilly on the farm, so please be aware of the cold and possibility of inclement weather during your visit. Should weather hinder our operation, updates will be posted on Facebook.

All furry friends are welcome, but should remain on leashes for safety. Please remember to dispose of doggie poo properly as well.
